Meet the Designer: Tyler Yocco
Founder of Double Wide EDC LLC
For Tyler Yocco, the Redeemer represents a second chance at life. As a full-time caregiver for his elderly grandparents, Tyler runs Double Wide EDC as a mission born from recovery. After overcoming addiction, he chose to build something meaningful, turning to the knife community not just for a hobby, but for a purpose.
Tyler’s journey was paved by a "village" of makers. From the technical foundations provided by Jim Hrisoulis and Marshall Noble (Legion Steel Knives) to the practical wisdom of Outdoors55, Neeves Knives, and Shayne Gables, Tyler’s growth was fueled by the radical support of the EDC world. He credits mentors like Jimmie Crowe for proving that authenticity is the only requirement for entry, and Mattisfaction for providing the encouragement to keep moving forward when things got tough.
This spirit of collaboration is the heartbeat of Tyler’s work, from his Loot Boxes (featuring the talents of Cole Hall, Terry Cour, and Robert Arduin) to his character-driven Signalborn stories.
By bringing the Redeemer to your pocket, Tyler and North Mountain Blade invite you to join a community built on grit, honesty, and mutual support. It is a tool designed by someone who knows what it means to rebuild, intended for those who believe in carving their own path.
